Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

WildPoint is a New Zealand based SEO business. We help small businesses get found on Google through monthly SEO plans, website audits, content writing and one-off optimisation services. We take your privacy seriously and want to be upfront about what information we collect, how we use it and how we look after it.

This policy applies to everyone who visits wildpointconsulting.com, contacts us, signs up to a plan or buys a service from us.

What information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, email address and phone number when you fill in a form or email us

  • Your business name, website address and details about your business and goals when you enquire, complete our onboarding form or use our services

  • Your login details if you create an account to access our SEO portal

  • Payment details when you buy a service or sign up to a plan. These are handled by our payment providers and we never see or store your full card details.

Information we may access while working for you:
If you’re on a monthly plan or have booked an optimisation service, we may need access to your website, Google Business Profile, Google Search Console or Google Analytics. This can include information about your own customers or website visitors, such as reviews or enquiries. We only use this access to deliver the work you’ve asked for, and we don’t copy, keep or use that information for anything else.

Information collected automatically:

  • Pages you visit on our website and how long you spend on them

  • General location, such as your country or region

  • How you found our website, for example through a search engine or a link

  • Search terms used to find our website

How we use your information
We only use your information for the reason you gave it to us and to run our business properly. This includes:

  • Replying to your enquiry

  • Delivering your audit, plan or service

  • Sending your monthly reports and updates about your account

  • Processing payments and keeping business records

  • Improving our website

  • Meeting our legal obligations

We don’t sell your information. We don’t share it with anyone except where we need to in order to deliver our services, or where the law requires us to.

Third party tools we use:
Some trusted tools process information for us as part of how our business runs.

  • Wix hosts our website, forms, member accounts and blog. You can read Wix’s privacy policy at wix.com/about/privacy.

  • Our payment providers process all payments securely. Your card details go directly to them and are never stored by us.

  • Afterpay, if you choose to pay for a one-off service in instalments. Afterpay’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

  • Google Analytics and Google Search Console help us understand how people find and use our website.

Some of these providers may store information on servers outside New Zealand. We only use reputable providers with strong security and privacy practices.

Cookies
Our website uses cookies, which are small files saved on your device when you visit. We use them to make the website work properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can manage cookies through the cookie banner on our site or your browser settings. Turning cookies off may affect how some parts of the site work.

How we store and protect your information
Our website uses a secure SSL connection, so information sent between your browser and our site is encrypted. Client records and any access you give us to your accounts are kept secure and only used by WildPoint.

When your plan or service ends, we stop using any access you’ve given us. We recommend you remove our access from your accounts too.

We keep business and payment records for seven years to meet New Zealand tax requirements, then securely delete them.

Your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong

  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need

To make a request, email hello@wildpointconsulting.com and we’ll respond as soon as we can, within the timeframes set by the Privacy Act.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

If you’re based outside New Zealand, your local privacy laws may give you extra rights, and we’ll respect those too.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.

Payment
All prices are in New Zealand dollars. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card details.

One-off services are paid in full before we start. You can split one-off services into four payments with Afterpay, and Afterpay’s own terms apply when you do.

Monthly plans are paid in advance on the same date each month, starting from the day you sign up. If a payment doesn’t go through, we’ll let you know. We may pause work until it’s sorted.

By paying, you confirm you’re allowed to use the payment method you’ve given us.

Minimum term and cancelling

DIY SEO has no minimum term. You can cancel any time and your portal access will continue until the end of the month you’ve paid for.

Essentials and Growth have a three month minimum, because SEO takes time to show results. After your first three months, you can cancel any time by emailing hello@wildpointconsulting.com. Your plan will finish at the end of your current paid month.

We don’t refund months that have already been paid for.

Refunds on one-off services
Our one-off services are digital and we start work as soon as you’ve paid, so we can’t offer refunds once the work has been delivered.

If you change your mind before we’ve started, email us within 12 hours of buying and we’ll do our best to sort it out.

If you’re unhappy with the quality of your work, tell us. We’d much rather fix it than leave you disappointed.

Turnaround times
Website audits are emailed to you within 48 hours of payment. For other services, we’ll give you a timeframe when you book.

Sometimes delays happen because of public holidays, technical issues or waiting on information from you. If we’re running late, we’ll let you know.

What we need from you
For a website audit or DIY SEO, we only need your web address.

For Essentials, Growth and our optimisation services, we’ll need access to your website and, where relevant, your Google Business Profile, Google Search Console and Google Analytics. We’ll ask you to fill in a short onboarding form about your business and goals, too.

We also need you to:

  • Give us accurate information about your business

  • Reply to questions and approve content in a reasonable time

  • Let us know before making big changes to your website while we’re working on it

If we’re held up waiting on something from you, our timeframes may move.

Access to your accounts
Your website and accounts always belong to you. We’ll only use the access you give us to do the work you’ve asked for. When your plan or service ends, we’ll stop using your access, and we recommend you remove it.

We’re not responsible for changes or problems caused by other people who have access to your website, or by your website platform or hosting provider.

SEO results
No one can guarantee rankings on Google, and we won’t pretend to. Results depend on lots of things outside our control, like Google updates, your competitors and how long your website has been around. What we do promise is honest, quality work and clear reporting on how you’re tracking.

Who owns the work
Once you’ve paid, blog posts and website content we write for you are yours to use however you like.

Audit reports, portal content, guides and templates are for use in your own business only. Please don’t share, resell or pass them off as your own work.

Portal access
DIY SEO members get their own login to our SEO portal. Please don’t share your login with anyone else. If you cancel, your access ends at the end of your paid month.

Liability
We always work in good faith and to the best of our ability. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any indirect loss, like lost profits or lost business, that comes from using our services or acting on our advice.

Our total liability for any service is limited to the amount you paid for that service.

If you’re buying our services for your business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 doesn’t apply, as allowed under section 43 of that Act. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other law that can’t be excluded.

Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and any disputes will be handled by the New Zealand courts.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date at the top. If you’re on a monthly plan, we’ll let you know before any big changes affect you.
